yeah, it's true. Like Gwen (from ITSV and ATSV) said it doesn't end well, but we shouldn't forget that in all the other universes(movies) gwen stacy is a civilian and spider-man a super-hero, meanwhile on the Spider-verse saga, they're both super-hero, and I really believe that makes difference

OK, so, I kind of wanted to try my hand in giving a more in-depth reasoning on why some of us say that the old animation looks better. THIS IS LONG BTW. A lot of people will say it is bias, but trust me I personally just have a critical eye for what I think is wrong with the newer style that goes beyond not liking it. I do like it, it looks prettier clearly, but there are some crucial flaws that I feel others can see but aren't able to really describe what is wrong in words due to not actually understanding art in certain ways. 1, The backgrounds in some of the "cleaner" version are too much, with colors that don't match or lighting that feels too opaque like it was just smudged on. This often happens when more time is focused on the animation looking good and less on making sure the animation looks good WITH THE BACKGROUND. Most times background is made with higher detail than the animation first and then you flesh out the characters to match the scene properly, but it feels like in this one they went heavy on fleshing out the characters and then worked on making the background match with varying results. 2. The animation of the attacks themselves overshadow the actions of the characters with too many effects sometimes, pulling you out of the in-depth feeling we originally got from the characters getting hit in exchange for looking more fancy. It sacrificed character intensity for dramatic effects, which is noticeable for us since Naruto fights always had a ridiculously iconic amount of frame detailing in their fights that make you feel every blow the characters take. Now the attacks like rasengan feel more powerful, but take up a lot of the visuals with extra chakra spirals or explosiveness that makes you focus more on it than the characters interaction with the attack, or their expressions. 3. They literally lessened the quality of close-ups by adding far less detail to hair/eye/face structures/etc. Not sure why they would do that as it made things like Minato's face shot a lot more bland looking. It's as if some characters have too much space on their face without those extra details, such as the little line bridge between nose and eyes. Also, the space between eyes was made way too wide now lol. Because they spread out the details so much and took out a lot of the additional strokes that define the face, they attempted to fill the gaps by spreading the features more. bigger eye gap, wider nose, lower mouth, etc. As someone who does art, these types of spaced out elements and adding less strokes is a way to make it easier, not better. Doing is makes frame work faster so the animation is smoother, but in exchange it takes away some of the actual quality. As an animator, it gives you a more simplistic guideline to follow if you know that each line has to meet exactly edge to edge, but that sacrifices a lot of the bold shading and depth, making things like the hair feel a lot less full. Naruto's close up in Kurama mode is another good reference, because the space on his face, and them making his face overall fuller, has him looking far less intimidating. He looks more like an angry puppy with chubby cheeks and eyes that feel larger because of the space between them. 4. A lot of the shading in the new version just looks rather off and badly blurred in. I believe they tried to use lots more colored shades to make it look softer or more dynamic, but it ends up making the shading look off when they also add a bunch of lighting effects with different colors over it. EG. Again, using the shot of Minato's close up as he ruffles Naruto's hair as reference to this, look at the tips of his hair in the cleaner version and you'll realize how it feels more like a forceful airbrush glow effect that is meant to overpower the too bright background, which, in turn, made the glow swallow up the corners of Minato's hair in an odd way. Compared to the naturally warm background on the old one that has the glow as more of a complimentary color, that still lets you appreciate every detail, over trying to beat the too bright and off-colored background into submission. Plus, you can see the colored shading on his skin just looks oddly too striking on pale skin. *In CONCLUSION* New style looks cleaner, fancier, less rough, and brighter, but it doesn't look better once you really look at it past the special effects. Despite feeling more highly modern, it is more a trick of the lights. In reality, they took out A LOT of the detail in exchange for lighting effects so we won't notice the reduction in overall line and shading quality. If they block out the issues with bright lighting that draws our eye, then it won't matter to them to actually put in that extra detail in the character lines itself. It isn't necessarily a bad thing since modern animation is a lot about cutting corners to make animation easier and more bright to attract younger eyes, but it is noticeable enough for some of us to call it out, even those that aren't looking deep enough to describe the issues. I'm certain there is more points I've missed, but that's all I can find for now that feels highly more noticeable.

AOT is too good to be called just an anime.. This is the mind blowing anime and great story telling with good animated in screen

This is not a vaild comparision. The 2022 one was just a 10 min video posted for narutos 20th anniversary, if an actual remake were to be made, it may look a bit different

The new animation tries to be too vibrant, i think a color palette from csm would be the perfect mix of the old and the new, what do i know tho i am not an artist 0:19 (hope i am not the only one that thinks the old explosion looks better)

The old one is just Better however the new ones look good because of the actual fresh coloring with modern technology so if they just freshened up the old ones by fixing the coloring then it would be the best of both worlds (yes that’s a fucking thing I’ve done it before on some of my old art)
